hotel rooms have lost their appeal, and while "Bed and Breakfasts" have long been around, it is not until recently, that one can stay at homes with a great variety of locations. besides, all Bed and Breakfasts feel (and are?) staged. there is some staging in this room with many pieces inherited, or that were present in the home for some other function. however, how does this arrangement feel staged? that is, to me, the magic. it does not. one of the things about travel, and staying with friends, is that one can have that lived-in feeling. the same goes for this house on the French coast of Normandy... and a bed big enough for two.
